To inculcate a multidisciplinary research approach in addressing complex issues in various areas of medical science research
To provide unique educational experiences directed towards the development of an individual with soft skills, knowledge, and professionalism to solve real world, open ended problems through innovative research
To accommodate the demands of not only science graduates who wish to obtain an advance research specialisation, but also who are keen in continuous learning and upgrading their knowledge in an appropriate area of medical sciences on a full or part time basis
To respond effectively and provide positive impact to national and global development and growth through sound research

PLO

Undertake significant research study in an appropriate area of Chinese Medicine
Formulate and apply solutions to research problems and effectively interpret research results
Demonstrate enhanced knowledge and expertise in addressing the complexity and discipline of the medical science areas in order to undertake such projects
Present and defend the research findings in a colloquium, seminar or conference
Produce progressive. innovative and creative ideas and strategies through research worthy of publication deemed acceptable by a refereed journal
Demonstrate leadership, teamwork and ICT skills in a research based environment
Demonstrate the ability to develop the necessary skills for self-managed, life-long learning through active participation of innovative ideas.
Demonstrate the ability to adhere to the legal, ethical principles, and the professional code of conduct in a medical laboratory
Demonstrate the ability to adhere to ethical standards and respect cultural and religious sensitivities by observing institutional, ethical and safety guidelines

Entry Requirement

Academic Requirement

A Bachelor's Degree with Honours and CGPA of 2.75 and above or a Bachelor’s Degree with CGPA of 2.75 and above in a related field from UTAR; or
A Bachelor's Degree with Honours and CGPA of 2.50 and above but less than 2.75 or a Bachelor’s Degree with CGPA of 2.50 and above but less than 2.75 in a related field from UTAR and subjected to rigorous internal assessment; or
A Bachelor's Degree with Honours and CGPA of 2.00 and above but less than 2.50 or a Bachelor’s Degree with CGPA of 2.00 and above but less than 2.50 in a related field from UTAR, show evidence of at least five (5) years of relevant working experience and subjected to rigorous internal assessment;
Any other academic qualifications equivalent to (1), (2) or (3) from another recognised University as approved by the Senate
